We continue with the Könse Q&A today sharing the next 10 most frequently asked questions from our community about natural cosmetics, skincare and wellness. Ready to take some notes?
1- I am interested in a sunscreen for city use, non-oily and light. I am a 67 year old woman with normal to dry sensitive skin.
Grown Alchemist Moisturizing facial sun cream SPF30 a vegan formula that combines rosehip oil (with antioxidant properties) and hyaluronic acid (provides and maintains hydration) plus natural zinc oxide, which offers broad protection against UVB and UVA rays and urban pollution; making it ideal for sensitive skin. With a light texture and it is ultra transparent it does not leave a white trace or a greasy feeling at all. One of our favorite sunscreens because of its versatility: it adapts to different skin types, from sensitive to mature skin.
Another option is Alex Carro Vitamin-Tech SPF30, because of its ultra-light finish and a special tint that helps even out the skin tone. It contains Vitamins B3+E, Macadamia, Omega 6+9 and organic rice bran, which improve the health and appearance of the skin, while offering total protection against UVA+B rays, blue light and environmental damage protecting all skin types including sensitive skin.
For active people, we recommend Seventy One Percent products, with options such as the SeventyOne Percent Eco-Sun Shield SPF 50+ or the SeventyOne Percent Eco-Sun Spray SPF 50+ with sun protection over 50 and mineral filters that respect your skin and the environment, making them both excellent barriers against UVA and UVB rays, ideal for all skin types, even oily or mature skin.
2- What adaptogens do you recommend to purify and detoxify the liver?
We love Depuravita’s Joy Purity, a formula that combines two algae known for their regenerative properties: Chlorella and Spirulina. Both promote healthy skin and provide the body with nine essential amino acids responsible for tissue repair, nutrient absorption, muscle building and injury recovery.
If adaptogens are what you are looking for, then the Four Sigmatic Elixir of Reishi or Cordyceps are very good options.
Reishi is considered one of the best-studied medicinal mushrooms, with there currently being over 5,000 publications on its uses and benefits. Reishi has properties both in the physical and mental balance of the body. It acts beneficially on the endocrine-metabolic system, including liver cells.
As for Cordyceps, one of its most valued health benefits is its protective effect on liver function: this is demonstrated by some studies and even helps prevent and reduce the symptoms of some liver diseases.
3- I would like to know more about AHAS, BHAS, PHAS. Which ones should I use for my skin type?
Both AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids) are chemical exfoliants used to leave the skin smoother by removing any dead skin cells.
The type of exfoliation that we get from AHAs and BHAs is chemical, that is, these acids do not contain particles that physically drag dirt.
However, there are several differences between the two. Broadly speaking, AHAs are perfect for combating the signs of aging, obtaining radiant and luminous skin, and are also very useful if you suffer from overexposure to the sun. While BHAs are more recommended for skin types that is rather oily or prone to acne or persistent breakouts.

4- What type of Collagen do you recommend?
Collagen is a protein whose main function is to hold together the different structures of the body. It is responsible for the degree of firmness and elasticity of these body structures and has an essential role in their hydration.
Everyone knows that as the years go by and the body ages, collagen production gradually decreases. This reduction in production levels causes, among other things, the loss of elasticity and flexibility of the skin, pain in the joints and muscles, osteoporosis, impaired vision, circulatory deficiencies, discomfort in teeth and gums, etc.
At Könse Beauty, we have options that can help increase collagen in your body which helps recover the vitality of your skin:
Depuravita Magic Potion is a superfood made up of a powerful dose of collagen and a natural anti-aging healing blend designed to protect your body from the damaging elements of modern life.
Chocolate Collagen: 100% natural collagen chocolates, with a unique formula that combines premium quality raw cocoa with CeramosidesTM, an innovative ingredient that helps fix skin moisture by restoring vital lipids.
Hello Wrinkles: A supplement packed with highly potent collagen peptides, powerful antioxidant Q10, and essential minerals. Additionally, it allows skin cells to retain moisture, replenish collagen levels, and maximize elasticity to keep skin strong, plump, and radiant from within.
Hydration plays a fundamental role in the regeneration of collagen, so we encourage you to try Könse Herbal infusions, especially Könse Skin Radiance (very fresh) which contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients, such as hibiscus, which, in addition to improving the ability to the skin to retain moisture so it stays hydrated, smooth and supple, it also supports collagen production and is extremely effective in fighting free radical activity and inflammation.
5- How to choose my makeup base online?
Before doing so, you should consider the following:
- Your skin type
- Your skin tone
- The type of finish you prefer (if you prefer Dewy vs Matte finish)
Important:
Your skin tone is equivalent to your natural skin color which is produced by melanocytes. In general (unless there is some alteration in pigmentation) they are distributed evenly throughout the skin. Commonly, foundations carry this nomenclature to associate their tone with that of the skin:
- Very light skin: Fair
- Light Skin: Light
- Medium Skin: Medium
- Tanned Skin: Deep
- Dark Skin: Dark
The undertone, on the other hand, would be the totality of nuances that underlie the color of our skin. The undertone has nothing to do with the color of your skin: it is common to relate light skin to a pink undertone, but this is not always the case, there are white skins with warm or neutral undertones and black skin with cold undertones.
Here are some tips to determine your undertone:
- Look at the back of your wrists: Being such a thin skin, it allows us to see the small capillaries. These will help us to know our undertone. Take a good look at its color:
BLUISH: If your capillaries are mostly blue or purple, your undertone is COOL.
GREENISH: If your capillaries are mostly greenish, your undertone is WARM.
COMBINED: If you don’t know exactly because they are both bluish and greenish, your undertone is NEUTRAL.
- Watch your skin’s reaction to the sun:
If your skin reacts by reddening, your undertone is COOL.
If your skin reacts by tanning without becoming too red, your undertone is WARM.
If you are at both points, your undertone is NEUTRAL.
- Bring a sheet of white paper or clothing closer and see how your skin looks compared to white:
If you see that your skin looks more pink, your undertone is COOL.
If your skin looks more yellowish compared to white, your undertone is WARM.
If your skin does not stand out for being pink or yellowish, your undertone is NEUTRAL.
Ask yourself this question: Which accessories suit you best? Gold or silver?
If you look more favored with silver accessories, your undertone is COOL.
If you look more flattered in gold, your undertone is WARM.
If both suit you… You are in luck! Your undertone is NEUTRAL.
Conclusion:
If you have pink undertones in your skin, use a makeup base classified as cold
For golden/yellow undertones, foundations listed as warm are best suited.
If you don’t have either shade, then go for a neutral shade.
